topic posted Tue, April 22, 2008 - 11:34 PM by  Dan
I chose to leave the Pendragon post whole and not responde with this in that thread.

I want everyone to know that it is my pleasure to offer a place where such information about losses and potential retreiveal can be discussed. So feel free if you have any information regarding anything "stolen" at faire, post it here and any information you have on follow ups to it...Thanks to those who took the time to bring this to our attention...

Good hunting..

  • With regard to the "Renaissance Faire Jousting Uniform" mentioned in the other thread, Sgt. Rogers of the Santa Clara Sheriff is now comparing the stuff being sold by the seller against lists from stolen property. I know Faire is in a different county (San Benito not Santa Clara), but it seems to me that a lot of Faire guests are from Santa Clara County so there is no reason why the thieves could not have been. Now would be the time to make the Santa Clara Sheriff aware of items stolen from the Faire so those items can be included on the stolen property lists being compared. Maybe fax Sgt. Rogers a copy of the police report.

    • Actually, Casa De Fruta and Hollister is in the southern tip of Santa Clara County. We have SC County Sheriffs on duty during opening hours the run of faire.
      • I know I'm picking nits but just to be accurate; The city of Hollister is in San Benito county, but the Casa de Fruta property (even though it has a Hollister mailing address) is actually in Santa Clara county. Though just barely. I've worked security for NCRF and when we had to call for real cops we got Santa Clara sheriffs.
        • The faire is actually in unincorporated land so you will only get the sheriff or CHP. I grew up in Sunol, its also unincorporated... You also have to remember the faire site actually crosses two county lines. So technically if something happens on the wrong side of faire they can always claim its not their jurisdiction if they want to.

The camping and front gate are in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County have a moratorium on Flash Heaters. You can thank that law for the cold showers in the morning...
