I am pulling my Bicycle out of mothballs and I have started to train again. It has been 16yrs since I Rode my bicycle in an event like this. Those of you who have known me for a long time remember when I used to race. Well here is a chance for me to get back on my bike and Raise money for a good cause, to help fight Diabetes. I have two family members with Diabetes and have lost a family member to diabetes. Two of my closest friends I grew up with Dan and Mark both are living with Diabetes. I presently work at Abbott Diabetes Care in R&D developing new and better devices to help make the lives of those living with Diabetes a little bit better. It is a job that I am proud of and it gives me a since of pride that I am making a difference in peoples lives. Please help me in my quest. Below is the official email and info for sponsoring me. Thank you all.

I recently accepted the challenge of cycling in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure fund-raising event. The Tour de Cure is a series of cycling events held in over 80 cities nationwide. The Tour is a ride, not a race; it features different route lengths from a leisurely 10-mile course to a demanding 100-mile journey. I have joined thousands of others to pedal in support of the Association's mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

I am asking you to help by supporting my fund-raising efforts with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of more than 20 million Americans who suffer from diabetes and another 54 million people in the United States with pre-diabetes.

It's fast and easy to support this great cause - you can make your donation online by selecting the "Click to Support Me" link below.

Any amount, great or small, helps in the fight against this deadly disease. I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress. If you want to do even more to help, please consider joining me in this great event. Our efforts will help set the pace in the fight against diabetes.

More information on the American Diabetes Association, its programs and diabetes in general can be found at the Association's Web site: www.diabetes.org

As I replied just moments ago to this response in another faire related tribe.....

this is the second time I'm aware of that "Angel," a person with no one on her friends list, and not enough chutzpah to even post a real pic of herself has bashed someone in a faire related tribe. Last time as I recall the bashing was not only denounced but proven to be nothing more than spiteful lies by several people, including some of the so called "victims," of the person bashed. So ENOUGH!!!!!! Go bother some other people or at least have the balls to show who you are and back up your claims with some facts.

Mr Moderator will you please report this person to Tribe for a TOS violation or something.

Everyone else pardon me please, but I just can't stomach this anymore.

I'm so very sorry that you are unhappy with Jeffery...

However I don't think that it matters if the person is out of shape or not... if the person has diabetes or not... what matters is that a cure is found for diabetes...

I have many friends and family who have diabetes... and if the Jefferies of the world can ride... and folk are willing to contribute... huzzah

Meanwhile... stop your venom... you get what you give...

        Hey Dan ~
Again with the yuckiness a moderator must deal with...
Boot the troll. Don't let it back in.
Report the profile to the TOU guy: people.tribe.net/touguy
Might also be good to report the profile to abuse@tribe.net

        Cheers,

          OMG!!! I can’t believe you’re such a venomous little B!

Diabetes is one of the biggest reasons for disability and death in the US. Maybe some day you’ll get the treat of learning about it firs hand Angle.

Can’t give much Jeffery but I just added you to my bill pay stack.

Just remember Lucifer was an angle.

PS. I’m quite heavy and I do a trek through San Francisco and into Occidental each year. Both are very mountainous. Weight doesn’t have much to do with it. Your state of mind has though.

Best of luck on the ride!
