Re-posted from the Biggins message board:
Just a headzup . . .
Last week, sometime between the third and fourth (final) weekend of the first-year event "California Renaissance Faire" (on the Ortega Hwy between San Juan Capistrano and Lake Elsinore) someone made their way thru the grounds of the CRF and stole a number of items. A gaming table from the nobles, merchandise from vendors, etc. Worst hit was Pendragon Costume who had two storage tubs of
product taken. This included a full size selection of their Desiree bodices both in black suede and black top-grain, a full selection of their signature tooled bodices, Hand tooled belts, pouches, and tankard holders made especially for the event, and a couple of doublets. Several of the items were unique. If anyone comes across someone selling a selection of Pendragon product (via eBay, rummage sale, small event booth, privately to acquaintances, etc.), perhaps claiming to be an authorized reseller - they're not, it's stolen. (Pendragon normally sells direct only, their profit margin is too slim to sell via 3rd parties and
maintain their prices).
Please report any suspicious offerings of Pendragon product to authorities, or to their site PendragonCostumes.com.
This despicable theft was a tremendous loss to Nicole the owner, an extremely hard-working divorced mother of three with no other source of income. -Jerry

Re: stolen pendragons
Fri, October 6, 2006 - 3:58 PMIt's going to be hard for the thieves to sell Pendragon without getting noticed because their product is so unique. I will definitely keep my eyes peeled.
Oh and also check out Craigslist -

Fri, October 6, 2006 - 9:56 PMi think it's legit. I saw that one earlier. It's just one bodice and they seperated the pieces. None of her previous items sold were suspicious either.

Re: stolen pendragons
Fri, October 6, 2006 - 11:09 PMGood eye. I passed this link onto Pendragon. Let's not assume because an item is in another state that it isn't possibly stolen. The items stolen will be marketed to faire folk in some manner so being suspicious of any Pendragon costumes being sold outside of Nichole's booth should be reported to her. Or if anyone has a lead I will be happy to follow up on it with the authorities.
Unfortunately, this theft was commited by someone who is a trusted member of the faire community. There were very, very few people who had access to the site, ability to roam around and even fewer who could come and go.
I know this is a shock to many people as we were all shocked but it isn't new. Vendors have had thefts in the past . All we can do as a community is take care of each other and weed out the predators who have deceived us with their false friendship and affection.

Re: stolen pendragons
Tue, April 22, 2008 - 11:41 AMThis listing on craigslist for a "Renaissance Faire Jousting Uniform" in Saratoga turned out to be an SCA fighter's armor stolen in December 2006. As you all know, the SCA fighters do frequent demos at Faire (generally not jousting however.) This "Tom" guy seems to be remotely familiar with Faire - he knows how to spell it, he knows there is jousting there, and maybe he saw SCA fighters wearing their armor. I thought it was possible that perhaps he had something to do with the stolen pendragons a couple months earlier (September/October 2006.) When you google his phone number, he has a lot of stuff for sale primarily stuff you could grab and stuff into a car trunk. For more information, check out the SCA West newsgroup: groups.yahoo.com/group/sca...sage/72617
I understand the Sheriff picked up the stolen armor this morning and will be returning it to its rightful owner, so I am reposting the ad here since "Tom" will probably be taking it down from craigslist soon.
